3 YEARS!

June 18th was the lovely anniversary of my wedding day! The past two years we took mini trips for this special occasion. This year we decided to keep it more low key. My mom had given me some dinero for my birthday (which isn't until next month for all of you who are just dying to get me a lil' something) and I have really been wanting to get some new makeup.

If you spend $50 at a Sephora, they will give you a full on makeover. I decided I wanted to splurge and get all dolled up for our anniversary dinner. We decided to take baby J with us since he is usually a pretty good baby when we go out and do stuff. We went to the mall and Dustin and Jett walked around while I was being transformed. I gave Dustin one job. He was to decide where to go for dinner.

So I am NOT a huge make-up person. It wasn't until I was in my early 20's that I even tried foundation. I always feel a little intimidated going into makeup stores because I feel like I have no clue what I am doing. haha. As Helen began to work on my face, she started asking all sorts of questions about my makeup history. I had no idea what she was even talking about. I just wanted to say, "just make me look pretty!" But I tried my best to make it sound like I knew a little about what she was talking about. I am sure I failed because she started dumbing things down for me. By the end, I am sure we were on the same page. She only sold me what I came in for. Foundation to use when I had my random breakouts. (Hormones post-pregnancy are crazy)

So I ended up looking like this:

As she was putting on my make-up and got the idea that I don't wear that much, she said that she would go light on the make-up. Nothing too crazy. I ended up washing it off 2 hours later because it was WAY too much for me. haha It was fun for a bit, but it just isn't me!

I went out to meet up with Dustin and see what he had decided for dinner....he hadn't decided on anything. So, we just drove around and looked at YELP trying to find somewhere to go.

We ended up deciding on Indian food. Here we are waiting for our food. So presh.

We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala with naan bread. SO good except for the fact that they didn't give us rice with it. Boo. We started eating and little man decided that he was DONE. He was in one of those moods that wasn't going to go away with a binky or yogurt bites. We ended up getting our food to go. I lost my appetite on the car ride home. I got the baby ready for bed and washed off the cakey make-up while Dustin ate his dinner. Sometimes life just isn't that glamorous. haha.

Hope you weren't looking for a romantic read. Because that was far from it. :)

I must say though, that this past year has definitely been the best year yet! It is amazing how much your love can grow with adding a baby to the mix. Here's to a new year of our happily ever after!
